Air Medal

Air Force uses oak leaf clusters on Air Medals, not strike numbers. Valor devices are also possible, depending on time period and branch of service. Pretty well done otherwise... when you get the MUA added, I'll be able to build my rack.

The AF uses OLC for both Air Medals and Aerial Achievement Medals (I have both). In fact, I don't think the AF uses arabic numerals on any award except the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

I've run into this problem myself; the only devices authorized by the Air Force for wear on the Air Medal are oak leak clusters and the "V" device. I have the Air Medal with 2 OLC, and one pending for Valor, but the rackbuilder will only allow me to put numerals on the ribbon, and no V device. It's not that big of a deal, but it does not allow us AF guys to display our Air Medals properly.
