Navy/Marine first award has a 3/16 bronze star, second award is 1 Gold star 5/16 and so on are Gold stars 5/16 then
after your 5th award that is 4 Gold stars you get 1 Silver Star 5/16. Does your head hurt yet that is just individuel Medals
Now for Strike/Flight Missions you recieve Numerals on the right side of the award if it is a single digit then it goes in the right tan stripe

Army screws everything up. second Award is a Numeral 1 third is 2 and so on.
Coast Guard Small bronze stars 5/16 how they should be awarded. 2nd awrds in one star and so on.
