Well, during the retirement process, I had a long sit-down with awards and decoration section to correct my record. The "V" that was originally "verified" was placed on the wrong ribbon. It was supposed to go on the AFOUA. After we corrected the AF system, I thought I was good, but when the Retirement's section got ahold of my DD214, it was a nightmare. At one point, they had the BS and Asia Pacific Service Medal on my papers...lol When the dust cleared, the "V" was placed on the AFOUA and AFOEA. My research shows only I should have had the "V" only on the AFOUA, but Retirements said I was authorized both. lol, I took off the AFOEA "V".

Talk about red tape.
