NYC state VS NG Awareds

Postby PA-SGT on Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:50 pm

Why do they have two different sets of awards. Did the Guard decide they needed to issue their own awards, instead of just getting the Awards authorized by the state??

Its gonna be a lot of work to do the graphics for all of those Ribbons.. :D

I might try to tackle it during my spare time

At least the ribbons, any of the fancy stuff I will leave to the Proffessionals

The first link is for the National Guard, the second link is for the State Guard. As I had not heard of a "State Guard" before I am not sure what it is really, but they have their own set of awards.

re Thanks

Postby PA-SGT on Fri Mar 03, 2006 2:40 pm

My pleasure, I enjoy working on this site, and the ribbons can be a challenge. I have completed them, but those devices I think I will let John or Mech figure those out. I am submitting the ribbons to John now. Thanks for finding the info..

Set file and ribbons from PA-SGT sent to John. We will need to do some work on the devices as they are unique to this state.

The "State Guard" is a state run Militia. It is stood up under the control of the Governor. Now that the NG's mission has gone more worldwide, these elements are popping up to "cover the slack" if there ever is any.

devices

Postby PA-SGT on Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:01 am

John, I sent the link with the device that GJones had found. those are gonna be buggers as they look to be some kind of NY shield or crest not sure if that is something you can scan, as I think it will be a real pain to create from scratch

good luck
