Numerals worked out

Postby John Asendorf on Sat Jan 01, 2005 11:17 pm

Just worked out numerals and began testing using the Army NCOPD ribbon. Made images for 2, 3 and 4. Now that numeral schema is worked out, only need to add the numerals.

Question for those who want to help out... which ribbons use numerals and, of those, are all of them calculated in the same manner? For instance, does the bronze numeral 2 always denote the second award? Is the Bronze numeral 1 ever used?

The Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon uses numerals.

A couple of other ribbon devices are the hourglass device and M device for the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

Oh, good to hear about the RCOTR... I didn't know that.

Yeah, the AFRAM will have a bunch of its own challenges... I'll probably write a function solely for it.

Thanks for the additions!

Added numerals to ARCOTR... do they work like most? plain ribbon for one award, a numeral 2 for 2, etc.?

The Air Medal, as worn by the Army at least, also uses numbers. The number represents the number of Air Medals awarded. The first award is worn without a number.

Air Medal should now allow numerals up to 4 (because I only had the graphics for up to 4 worked out so far)

I'm going to rework the graphics for the numerals so that they are more "real" looking...

Glad to see you added the numerals, you guessed it right. One award only the ribbon is displayed, 2 for second, etc...

One other thing about the AFRM it also utilizes numerals for multiple mobilizations

Yes, the AFRM should display entirely properly. If anyone notices weird behavior with it, please let me know.
