Were you able to make YOUR rack?

Postby John Asendorf on Tue Jan 04, 2005 10:32 pm

Were you able to completely make YOUR rack? If so, great! If not, please let me know what's missing so I can prioritize what needs to be fixed. Want to get my fine friends and helpers set up first!

yes I was able to make my rack. Needs the gwot's and korean defense service medal. Also a national guard section. I realize the national guard side could be a pain in the arse. But if you copied the the ribbon styles off armyawards.com they are pretty accurate , at least for my state.

Thanks for the input... did all the appurtenances even show up?

I will definitely be adding the NG ribbons also. That is quite a major undertaking but I think we can make it happen.

Just attempted to build my rack. Got 11 of the 19 ribbons, missed the KDSM, Vietnamese awards (available at your ribbon source), Korean award and a Chinese award (these are pretty obscure, using "filler" ribbons for this sort of award would provide a solution). Only got two of 15 appurtenances, two oak leaf clusters on the ARCOM, appeared. As I know you are aware, the "V" devices aren't coming through nor are numerals on the Air Medal. No clusters appeared on the Purple Heart or the Bronze Star. Unit citations (right side) did not appear.

Keep up the good work!

I wasn't able to make my full rack, but I suspect that is primarily because your Navy section was pretty short. Give it time I take it. Marksmanship ribbons were missing.

Knowing what's missing is half the battle that's for sure, any input is valuable. But, yes... It's mostly a matter of adding ribbons.

I was able to make most of my rack except the MA ARNG ribbons or the GA ARNG ribbon.

I split this topic so the Merchant Marine stuff doesn't get lost.

Mine works. I had to do my unit awards by checking USMC as my current branch of service but it's all good.

Other than an order of precedence issue, yes. Two of the lower level awards are flipped in the order of precedence for the AF.

Yes I was able to with some minor glitches involving order of precedence. Here is my current rack build:

Image

I built the rack using AF as my current service. The correct order of precedence in this case should be as follows:

AAM, AGCM, NDSM, AOSR, AFLSR, ANCOPD, AFTR, ASR, Cal GCM, LA CWVM.
(I threw in the Louisiana Cold War Victory Medal as it is also a commemorative Cold War Medal that you can wear as a civilian and hopefully Congress will approve it as a federal medal someday soon  )

Thanks for all of your efforts!

Using the Army as my branch of service, I was able to create my ribbon rack. The only glitch I noticed is that you can't specify what your primary or last National Guard (State) you served in last. I had to switch the order of the Louisiana Emergency Service Medal and the Washington Army National Guard Service Ribbon. Other than that, it came out perfect! :D
