Before I saw this site, I posted the Oregon ANG Medals and Ribbons on
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awards_and_decorations_of_the_National_Guard
How do we get them posted to this site? Feel free to use the images.
http://www.medals.lava.pl/us/uschk.htm does have Oregon Guard ribbons but they have the order wrong and the wrong devices on
most of them.
The ribbons in proper order and their devices are as follows...
ORNG Distinguished Service - No subsequent awards
ORNG Exceptional Service - Bronze oak leaf cluster, Gold star(heroism), Silver star (human relations)
ORNG Meritorious Service - Bronze oak leaf cluster, Gold star(heroism), Silver star (human relations)
ORNG Commendation - Bronze oak leaf cluster
ORNG 30-Year Medal - Bronze star(35yr), Bronze Hourglass(40yr)
ORNG Superior Soldier/Airman - Bronze(2nd award)/Silver(5th award) oak leaf
ORNG Superior Unit - Bronze(2nd award)/Silver(5th award) oak leaf
ORNG Emergency Service - Bronze(2nd award)/Silver(5th award) oak leaf
Because I know I would screw-up how to explain the wear of the devices for these ribbons, this is Straight from the Regs.
ORNG Faithful Service
The “M” Device will be worn on the Oregon Faithful Service Ribbon to denote service during a mobilization or contingency designated by the Secretary of Defense. Subsequent awards of the “M” Device will be annotated by a Bronze Numeral starting with the second award. The Bronze Numeral will always be worn on the wearer’s left of the “M” Device.
5 years = Faithful Service Ribbon + a Bronze Star worn centered on the ribbon; unless the “M” Device is authorized. If the “M” Device is authorized the “M” Device will be worn on the wearer’s left and the Bronze Star will be worn on the wearer’s right.
10 years = Faithful Service Ribbon + a Bronze Hourglass worn centered on the ribbon; unless the “M” Device is authorized. If the “M” Device is authorized the “M” Device will be worn on the wearer’s left and the Bronze Hourglass will be worn on the wearer’s right.
15 years = Faithful Service Ribbon; + a Bronze Hourglass worn on the wearer’s right and a Bronze Star worn on the wearer’s left; unless the “M” Device is authorized. If the “M” Device is authorized the “M” Device will be worn on the wearer’s left, the Bronze Star will be centered and the Bronze Hourglass will be worn on the wearer’s right.
