Just wanted to point out a couple of deficiencies in the Illinois National Guard section. Most of the deficiencies are slight variations in the names of the awards as listed in DMAIL Regulation 672-1 (1 APR 96) with Change 1 (21 AUG 02). A lot of folks in the Illinois Guard make these same mistakes!
The Illinois Distinguished Service Medal is missing the "L" at the end of "medal" in both the rack builder and its associated Wiki page. Also, the regulation gives its proper name as Illinois Military Distinguished Service Medal.
The Illinois Military Medal of Valor should properly be the Illinois Military Medal for Valor.
Likewise, the Illinois Military Medal of Merit should be the Illinois Military Medal for Merit.
The Illinois Long and Honorable Service Medal is named the Illinois Military Long and Honorable Service Medal.
Illinois Recruiting Ribbon is good to go!
Illinois Military Attendance Ribbon is good to go!
Illinois Volunteer Service Ribbon. Since this one has been discontinued, it's not listed in the current reg, so I cannot comment on it.
Illinois State Active Duty Service Ribbon is named in the current reg as the Illinois State Active Duty Ribbon (no "Service").
The current reg does not list the Illinois Distinguished Sharpshooter ribbon. It may be discontinued.
There will likely be more changes coming to the Illinois awards manual soon since the Governor recently created by Executive Order a new medal called the Abraham Lincoln Medal of Freedom. When details come down on that I'll pass it along here.
